Brian Hall

Be-1 "The Man"

Brian Hall, Born and raised in Santa Cruz California. Surfer, skateboarder, snowboarder, artist, and musician. Grew up on the east side of Santa Cruz and went through the public school system in Capitola and Soquel. Surfed competitively for three years. Started out musically by playing guitar and singing Heavy Metal, Thrash, Punk, and Funk. Joined Jazz and concert choir in high school and graduated in 1995. Continued higher education by moving to Oregon and majoring in music. His musical background has been influenced by Jazz, Classical, Rock, Reggae, World Beat, Funk, Soul, Hip-Hop, Gospel and R&B. Be-1 is on a mission to produce as much music as possible and create a new sound by infusing a diverse and eclectic mix of genres that are heart felt and warm to the soul.

Mixed live sound for bands and solo artists at multiple venues in Portland and surrounding areas. Have worked festivals, private events, bars, and clubs using stage plots, microphones, instruments, amplifiers, and running mixing consoles for music performances.

Set up recording environments for studio sessions, by correctly placing microphones for recording drums, instruments, and vocals. Worked with musicians using recording software programs for multi-tracking and hardware devices to produce clean quality recordings.

Radio Producer: Entercom Radio Station: Denver, CO 2003-2004

Produced and mastered clips of digital audio for live Disk Jockeys and pre-recorded radio shows to insert between songs played on the air. Also produced interviews and program identifications with professional musicians and actors in studios of Entercom Radio.

Sound Design: Dreambody Dance Cooperation, Bolder, CO 2003-2004

Custom designed original music scores and sound effects for dance choreography. The music and sound effects were featured in two performances at the D.A.I.R.Y center for the arts in a production called "Equilibrium" and "Equilibrium II"

Skills:

Working with mixing boards, microphones, musical equipment, and music related software is my forte. I have extensive knowledge about mixing live sound as well as studio engineering and recording. I understand a lot about microphone placement and the different types of microphones and their uses. I am familiar with many types of hardware devices, instruments, effect processors and I am capable of using auxiliary sends and returns. Being diligent, hardworking, and outgoing are my strong points. I get along with people and work well in high pressure situations.
